Cardio :: Minimalist LP Cycle 5

Mood: Werk.

So when I was doing all the cardio whileI I recovered from being sick (walking, bicycling), my cut was going tremendously well.

Every person I know that is cutting also includes some cardio in their routine.

I cannot stand cardio.

But I love conditioning. I love ballistic training which is essentially moving weight continuously and in a fluid like motion for the duration of the set.

Enter the Kettlebell.

Can you do the Swing, Getup, Clean, Press, and Snatch with a Dumbbell or other than heavy weight? Yes you can. However, I contend it will not be as effective nor as efficient nor as safe as the kettlebell especially when it comes to Ballistics Training such as the Swing and the Snatch.

So, I am introducing this exercise back into my routine as my form of cardio. My goal is to do something on the days that I do not make it to the gym. The only exception is perhaps the day after Deadlift day and the day after my cycle ends with Arm day.

My goal with the Swing is several things:

  1. Get to 500 swings per workout the 2 pood (that’s 32kg or 70lbs for you non-gireveks.)
  2. Work on my high pulls with the 70#…
  3. … in order to work my way into the Kettlebell Snatch with a 70lber:

Here’s the workout:

Training:
  • Kettlebell Swings 5×20 70# 12m30s
    Calories Burned: 464

Results: Dang it that was super tough.

My 32kg felt so dang heavy when I was moving it from one place to the other. I wasn’t expecting that at all.

SupplementsC4 taken 30 minutes prior to working out.

Daily: Creatine (for the one extra rep and swoleness) and Fish Oil (joints) everyday.

Food:

Timing Calories Carb Fat Protein
pre  2,548 233 64 208

Since you don’t really muscle recover after a cardio workout, the most important thing to me is my calories and carb count for that day. Hence, I am only posting for the macros for the day of.
